Dominance and Exclusion…

This phenomenon in our cultural psyche; one that pits a minority collective or power tripping individual against a subservient majority for the sole purpose of control, whether for market dominance, religious doctrine, or athletic dynasty, basically defines our current political process. How does this happen? Legislation of profits by eliminating competition via the misuse of copyrights, lax anti-trust laws, and the dispersing of tax breaks. Miniscule percentages of penalty versus worth for punishment of breaches of anti-trust law and environmental protection are evidence that the priorities in place are part of a cultural mindset.

This mindset results in a system that promotes the premise that the possible opportunity to reach and maintain status in the top 2% economic level has greater social worth than the more likely probability of not getting there, including the elements of failure: the subjugation of the working class, the desolation of families, and justice inequities of the bottom 98%. At least we have hero worship.

I once heard a tale of an American walking by a mansion and proclaiming, “One day I’ll own one of those.” Meanwhile an Irishman across the Atlantic is walking by a mansion proclaiming, “One day I’ll get that bastard.”

So we have a survival of the fittest economy with a built-in defense system that holds the livelihoods of millions hostage so corporate officers can have infinite benefit of the process.

This is false freedom. This standard is why in many people’s eyes, mine included, that there is really no difference between the republican and democratic presidential candidates. I didn’t see a difference between Clinton and Dole, Gore and Bush, and I see little difference between Bush and Kerry. We don’t dare vote for someone else but Kerry, because Bush will win. This is a pathetic way to showcase the greatest democratic system of all time.

I will vote for Kerry, not because he earned my trust, but because I see the current administration as an evil entity within an evil system. Sorry Ralph. I can only handle one evil at a time.

Corporate theft or fun with domestic animals?

I played an incredible amount of hooky yesterday, otherwise known as milking the cow or screwing the pooch... a metaphor directed toward such a non-deserving mega entity that requires much more needed respect and attention than being called a bovine or pooch. I actually got a full eight-hour compliment of pay complete with ever decreasing bennies for bending some expressive pipe for the deck, trimming a rogue tree that dares to rest against the neighbor’s phone lines, mowing a lawn that should be somehow engineered to feed someone or something in a third world country, and a drive to a wine tasting that capped the evening with zero guilt for the day’s transgressions.

There are many ways to contribute to a process, many ways to define whether a process is worthy of contribution, and many ways to screw the processed pooch. I prefer my way, of course. I guess I have lost my way as a trooper in the ever infinite expansion of corporate domination…no longer an integral cog but an exploited necessary evil to be controlled and manipulated for the better good. That good would be in this particular case… “mo money, all da money, and now.”

Was this theft? Contractually speaking with a full implementation of lawyer induced verbiage… yup. Could a “Les Miserable” scenario arise from this blatant act of criminal intent? Kinda… with much less drama and the need for people who can collectively sing in harmony, something I doubt my neighbors are capable of doing. Could this act of social deviancy cause an abrupt cancellation of livelihood? Hmmm. No risk, no reward. No blood, no foul. No pain, no gain.

Anyway, for every corporation that: makes money off of rogue nations exporting terrorism, exports reasonably paying jobs overseas, and pollutes the crap out of mother earth… there be a pooch needing a good screwing.

It happened before, it can and will happen again if we let it.

Venus running amok...

There are rare moments in life when one crosses paths (and as a male, actually is aware that this has occurred) with someone who has a certain natural power… sincere and fluid, who can move through air with the least resistance and project that on each person they touch. This type of human is a true shaman… a born healer with no agenda, only the desire to give others the basics to build upon so as to heal and empower themselves. If you come across one of these people and can become aware of the significance of the moment, seize that moment and don’t let it slip away.

Rules for Corporate Ascension Preservation...

Maintain at all costs a core group of likeminded elite intellectuals, give them everything they want, and treat everyone else as subordinate scum.

Create an environment where everyone but this core group suffers the consequences of poor sales and market performance.

Downsize or reorganize only below the core group level and with maximum leverage, preferably during an economic slump when jobs are scarce and workers are most susceptible to fear tactics.

Admit nothing and deny everything.

This Is a Stick-Up! Fry Me Some Eggs!

With healthcare costs escalating and many healthcare plans financially out of reach for an alarming number of fixed income seniors, the reality of having to substitute healthcare for food is becoming more prevalent. As a result, a wave of food crimes are occurring throughout the nation as hungry old people are breaking into homes around mealtime and forcing their captives, sometime at gunpoint, to fix them a plate of food. Other than DNA left on a fork, law enforcement officials say tracking the perps is difficult, since the evidence has been consumed. No harm or injury has been reported to the victims however threatening behavior was noticed to increase when the eggs are too runny or the potatoes were burnt.
