a minimal subliminal cyclical redundancy

meanderings by rm dustin

This place I deposit thoughts, E-noodlings where my synapses have coagulated recent perceptions. There are no absolutes. Like all manifestations it has had its evolutionary moments. This is the latest. There will likely be more...

I live with many free thinking, free spirited, patriotically challenged, religiously void life-jesters here in and around the delta, scattered in-between the tributaries of the Skagit, peppering the hillsides, or burrowed into micro valleys. They are my friends; spirits entwined, layered, and folded within this realm where aboriginal and Norse lore meld amongst the mists sent inland by salted surges. I am not here by chance.

Elitism…

This is a unique element of human nature that just won’t go away on its own. The Communists tried controlling it with brutal totalitarianism but they just became elitist Communists. The Christians tried with psalms of humbleness and forgiveness but guess what, we have oodles of elitist Christians. Some people are just plain better than others. Just ask them. Some people’s shit doesn’t stink. They’ll remind you of that using several social leverage mechanisms… hype, money, cult of personality, etc. Being a legend in one’s own mind and successfully projecting it to one’s own advantage is the epitome of true celebratory success in this culture. With it comes fame and money. Without it comes the realization pure talent is irrelevant. We all strive for this elevation. We all worship those that reach this pinnacle, so much so, that we are willing to dismiss the probability for the sake of the possibility when defining our economic and social policies. We more than likely will never hit the lottery, but we damn well have the right to spend the rent money buying the tickets just in case we do. Thus capitalism in it’s many guises hangs on until violence removes it, an endless cycle. I guess I’ll keep working with my hands and hope I’m not persecuted for not getting with somebody else’s program.
