Momentary Clarity...
The air was thick with moisture tonight. It hovered like a blanket falling perfectly toward a bed, all corners aligned. Yet it stood suspended, motionless, compressing the stillness and the smells beneath it. Yes, it was about the smells, of foliage after a good rain, of earth being cleansed, and of times past. Cedar, mint, and even the blacktop had a soothing fragrance about it. An old friend joined me and we spoke of things in a wordless manner as only two such people can.
